The 08 has 76k miles on it and the 13 has about 116k miles on it. My main thing is this, do I need to worry about replacing any big components like transmission or timing belt within the next year or 2? Or do I just need to do the usual spark plugs, oil change and brake pads? I’ve got 3500 in savings rn for a car so ideally it’d be a 2k down payment. If I can get away with zero down payment then I’ll just save it for mechanical emergencies.

Kind of a tough call. My immediate response to the post title alone is go with the 13 solely because Ford had stepped away by that generation. But then the mileage…

Logically, I’d say go lower mileage for the sake of having more life ahead of you on the engine. Do you happen to know if there’s any carfax or maintenance records kept for either?

08 all day. Significantly less mileage. Both cars are great and have a good solid motor but with that low of miles you’ll have more longevity. I have had both of those models and I always preferred the sportier look of the older. I have a 2011 and it’s at 165k miles and I’m starting to get some things that need replaced. So if you want more life then the 08 is the way to go.
