Got brembo pads/rotors roughly 1.5 years ago. After about a year, they started shaking. Talked to my mechanic and he told me brembo pads are harder and may warp rotors faster. If I wanted more comfort I should go with OEM or akebono. Could get rotor/pads for 200~ from dealership. Is there anything else I can try to do before I swap? Should I do both the rotor/pads or just rotors? Have heard that changing just the pads could stop the shaking too.

Thanks in advance

DIYer advice: I always recommend OEM pads/rotors. But I gotta say, 1.5 years on new rotors/pads isn’t very long. Brembo is a premium aftermarket brand, you shouldn’t be having these issues. Even bargain basement aftermarket pads/rotors should last longer. Did your mechanic actually pull a tire and inspect the pads/rotors/calipers? Something here is not right.

Took the weekend to take everything apart and follow step by step. Under 60 breaks really smooth anything above that seems worse. Took it into a mechanic he said resurface the rotors and it’ll cost 70
