LE deck is still available. Is it because they’re “not so limited” or because scalpers didn’t know they’d have to make a purchase on all their bot accounts in order to be eligible?

Maybe Valve got it right.

I tried to buy one on my main account (successfully) then tried to buy one on my wife’s account and it denied the purchase. I then tried again and it said again that I had reached my 1 limit. We used different computers and everything.

Doesn’t limited edition mean “Buy this item for a limited period of time”?

I feel like people have gotten used to hyper scarcity limited editions, that typically Nintendo employs, and not what a limited edition really is. Even if Valve decided to bump the delivery date up and produce more Decks, it’s still only available for a limited time.

In addition, it kills scalpers at least in the short period…And like anything limited edition, when it’s no longer available it’ll go up in price.

The store page for the limited edition straight up says “limited quantities”, that’s why people figured it would be a relatively small amount.

I just hope they keep slightly changing the qualifying target for purchase… cause the scalpers know what to do for next time if it doesn’t change.

I wish we knew how many units were sold yesterday (LE, oled, LCD, refurb)
