KitKat is a 10 year old operating system. That is a long time in regards to a desktop OS, and an eternity for a mobile OS. It’s hard for me to see this as any kind of meaningful loss. The list of serious security holes that exist in Kitkat is probably significant.
Ancient OS with unpatched security holes is unsupported by browsers that use the internet… what do I think about it?
It’s a good idea. The moment data/credit card info I’d stolen it’ll be called Google’s fault. It’s like wondering why Windows XP isn’t supported anymore.
For local stuff in the house or offline, sure. Online, not worth the risk.
Maybe NCSA Mosaic still works?
Chrome already was a thing back then!l started with Android 1.6
I ran KitKat on my S2 haven’t looked back since.
Why would you want to use a modern browser on an ancient OS?
Just keep using ancient browsers on the ancient OS. Not like the users can appreciate any improvements anyway since they are happy on KitKat.
I have a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 which runs Jelly Bean (4.2.2) and Google Chrome works flawlessly with it! I’ve tried several different browsers, and Chrome is the only one that worked (and it’s quite fast, too).
What is KitKat?
I think it is long overdue and should have happened years earlier. End of support means you throw the device to the recycle bin. What exactly don’t you understand?

I don’t.
