Hello everyone,

I brought my vehicle in after it shut off on the freeway and wouldn’t turn back on. After towing it in, I was told it was the relay high voltage main that was the issue and was pressured into saying yes to fix it out of pocket even though I had a third party warranty I needed to get to to cover the claim. After finally getting that issue covered by my third party warranty, the service center told me that after replacing the part, there was another issue with the hybrid battery and system. They also repeatedly asked if I ever tried to externally jump the vehicle which I had repeatedly told them I’ve never touched the battery once in the entirety that I have owned this vehicle. I have now received a call today that my claim by my third party warranty has been denied because they said there was external power which caused the failure (an external jump) which I repeatedly said I’d never done when the car shut off. It is now going to cost out of pocket $2,700 if not covered by anything. I’m not sure where to go or what to do after this because I know I never tried to jump the vehicle once in the entirety I’ve owned it. It’s a 2017 Hyundai Ioniq. Anything helps, thank you.     Call the shop and ask them what proof they have that the damage was caused by external jump
