    The facelifts of the R8 was nice at first but I grew to like the 1st iteration pre facelift even more. Ive been seeing young guys driving the 4.2l here in Vegas a few times.

    i remember back when this thing was first announced all those years ago and it was called the Le mans Quattro - been infatuated with it ever since.

    I always wanted to own an R8 but it seems like the latest value craze has put them a bit above what I think they’re really worth.

    Absolutely love mine and really sad to see Audi end production. Ideally I would have wanted to make a lateral move several years from now rather than an upgrade to a V12 or modern hybrid V8, but choices are rapidly thinning. Not a Lambo guy myself, and Audi made one of the few understated supercars that are still around. Not sure what I’ll step into after this, but maybe it’s worth holding onto my R8 for it being the last of the V10s.

    I was never as infatuated with it as others were, but I gotta admit the first gen was a fine-lookin’ machine. Always preferred the first gen.
