There are often tackles made that are referred to as “Orange card tackles” in that they are too soft for a red, but too hard for a yellow. As it is, having only two forms of punishment (technically three if you could two yellow cards only meaning you get suspended from one game, not three, but that doesn’t apply to single tackles) might be a bad idea.

Could we implement an actual Orange card? I have a few ideas for this and want to see if somebody could come up with something better:

  1. Forced off the pitch but not facing a suspension for the next match (basically a weaker double yellow) another yellow acts like a a straight red

  2. Not kicked off the pitch, but facing a suspension for the next match another yellow acts like a straight red

  3. Forced off the pitch and facing a one match suspension that doesn’t have to be served in the next match (anytime before the end of that season, or in a certain time period)

4.The last one but you have to serve the suspension the next match (slightly more harsh)

  1. a warning like a yellow, but if you commit one more foul you are given another orange and sent off the pitch for a three match ban

Ideas?

I think they need to do something about second yellows. You can be sent off for kicking the ball away or taking your shirt off or time wasting. The player would be an idiot for letting that happen but it does happen. I think you should get a second yellow which means you get a 1match ban but you don’t get sent off. If you are stupid enough to get a third yellow then its sent off with 2match ban. It’s just my opinion but matches can be ruined when a team goes down to ten.
