Does the rest of Europe and the world dislike international breaks as much as we do in England ?
I was having this discussion with friends and I think it directly correlates with the quality of the league of your country.
For example Spain England Germany will dislike them as they would prefer to see their clubs playing , but for Croatia their national team is better than their club teams so they enjoy it.
I could be totally wrong so please let me know !
From the US and I feel the same way about it as you lot. Nobody enjoys friendlies. The qualifiers only matter for a handful of teams anyways.
I’d imagine it could be fun if you lived in the capitol of a smaller country though. Somebody from Latvia is going to get the chance to see Modriç play in real life this weekend while North Macedonian fans will see England play. At the same time, they’re going to watch their country probably lose in a match that barely really matters. Personally, I still prefer watching the Prem in a pub if it means for watching good football.
