Does the rest of Europe and the world dislike international breaks as much as we do in England ?

I was having this discussion with friends and I think it directly correlates with the quality of the league of your country.

For example Spain England Germany will dislike them as they would prefer to see their clubs playing , but for Croatia their national team is better than their club teams so they enjoy it.

I could be totally wrong so please let me know !

From the US, don’t really like international breaks. Most of the matchups just aren’t that compelling

Same, I’m a US-based fan and only get excited for when the USMNT is playing meaningful competitive games, which during the season really just means WCQs

Sorry friend but you really aren’t a USMNT fan if you think WCQ is the only thing that matters. Dig a bit deeper and see it all and you’ll care more

I mean Nations League and friendlies are better than zero soccer whatsoever, but I’m not thaaaaat hyped to watch a game against lower level CONCACAF opposition if it’s not a competitive match (and even early round Nations League games are hard to get excited for).

I don’t include Copa America/Gold Cup in here because those aren’t mid season games.

Lol you are the most sane person to respond to me. I respect you and appreciate your answer. It is true but i guess i just enjoy watching young guys try and get their time in so we can actually get some momentum for 2026

That’s more to do with CONCACAF being totally lopsided due to the tiny Caribbean islands who favour cricket over football. UEFA would feel the same if every other nation were San Marino and Andorra.

I don’t care for them at all. While it can occasionally be interesting, fundamentally I dislike international football. The only thing the break is good for, for me, is it gives me a chance to watch replays of games I missed on streaming that I want to see. But I’d rather there just be no breaks and have the players need to play fewer games and in a less congested schedule.
