He’s been excellent all-round. You clearly haven’t watched him play for Chelsea.

He had moments of brilliance for us but ultimately didn’t seem consistent enough. Playing every week will do him the world of good.

All of our signings are turning out good it’s called giving time. And they just keep improving. Chelsea is going to be extremely dangerous by the end of the season.

The previous window was a huge W, sold off deadwood/ uninterested players whilst also making decent money from them and replacing with young hungry players that have been pretty reliable this season so far, more to come from injury after the break too

Hard to disagree with that at present. But it’s very early days in his Chelsea career. Hope he can continue his brilliant start.

City so far have arsenal Jesus and zinchenko and Chelsea Palmer and they were both considered those teams best signings. For city they didn’t start in their position. Crazy how many good players city seem to get/have at all times.

Yeah, solid example of overraction. Dude was noway near PL quality so far, scored some penalties, but absolutly not tier 1 player. But he is english, so as journalists as usual.

      Things I rate him on:

      1. Positioning. He is really good at receiving the ball, pulling the players away and being adaptable in terms of where he is.

      2. Passing. Long balls, crosses, sharp through balls and creative tricks. He is great

      3. Composure. Significantly less wasteful than an average Chelsea player, good pens on top (not a big deal).

      4. Mentality. Seems hard-working and positive

      5. Spatial awareness and an ability to transition. A lot of his movement and passing carries City DNA, well-drilled to break down the elusive low blocks. When he came on against some relegation shitters (forgot who) and he started transitioning sideways, pulling people away before passing and doing other advanced stuff under pressure, I instantly saw the glimpses of Pep smiling like he is the sun from teletubbies.
Palmer is a good player and a good transfer. He doesn’t need to be world class to be called good.

He has just scored 4 penalties. No goal in open play yet. Not a playmaker. I think Chelsea need to wait.
