    I see people saying Giroud and Lewa are better.

    They are completely different types of players. Lewa & Giroud are target men who don’t need to move much so age affects their game less. Suarez is still running all round the place like he is in his 20’s.

    The playing with a knee injury sums him up. I believe Gerrard said that with Sturridge he had to try convince him to play when he had some slight discomfort but Suarez would strap himself up and run through a brick wall for the team.

    All 3 are great players but unfair to compare when they play differently.

    C’mon bro, that’s just cringe. Even if we don’t count CR7 as a striker, Benzema scored 10 goals in UCL knockouts against the best teams in the world just a year ago. If we go further back, you have R9, Gerd Muller, Sheveckenko, Henry, Drogba etc.

      Suarez is a better striker than all those players. Muller i don’t really know so can’t have an opinion. Henry was a better winger than a striker, same with Cr7. Schevchenko and Drogba are not on the same level as Suarez. Only one you could really consider is r9, and other than the ballon dor, what did r9 really have over Suarez?

      Ronaldo plays for Al Nassr and he is top scorer in Euro 2024 so it does not make sense what you say. Messi is in MLS but still in shape and could play in Europe too.

    It might be true that people wrote him off a bit early in Europe and that he was expected to coast and retire in South America. Thats some strong performance and commitment… But to argue he is th ebest striker in the world rn would be a stretch and just dilutes his great year, imo. Makes me wish MSN would be play on loan for Barca this UCL as super subs :)
