Piccoli’s goal was amazing. Calling it a foul is corruption of the sport. There needs to be an explanation from the league and suspensions/a revamp of the law. The sport suffers from this kind of catastrophe. Nobody agrees or likes this horseshit. Soft as fuck & a total mis-use of VAR. I am extremely disappointed in the league & what was a wonderful game is tarnished.

The goal was amazing, but Piccoli did commit a foul just before it, which in turn prevented Thiaw from getting anywhere near him at the moment of the shot. Stepping on an opponent’s foot, however unintentional and unfortunate, is still a foul.

Milan fan and I agree it’s the shitiest use of VAR. If it was a foul in the box I’d probably feel different, but it’s sad seeing goals like these overturned.

As an inter fan im a bit biased here but i cant help but think about the foul that wasnt given vs atalanta as a clear precedent of letting play proceed when its a close decision like that… i was ok with the foul not being called then but that looked worse than this one imo

The current rules & abuses by VAR are bullshit & professionals will tell you so. It’s taking away the spirit of the game and introducing this subjective magnification that plays with human emotion because things happening in slow motion appear more dramatic. Soft - the VAR needs to be rethought.

I mean dude he stomped on his foot. If a defender does that in the box, it’s a clear penalty.

No. The referee didn’t call the foul in real time. Thiaw wasn’t even asking for the foul. It’s corruption plain and simple. If they applied the same standards to defenders during the game we’d have penalties & free kicks galore. I don’t care if the refs followed whatever stupid law/guidelines they have - it is ripe for corruption as just witnessed & it needs to be changed before we kill the sport. With the amount of betting going on I wouldn’t be surprised if outside influences are starting to see the weaknesses in the league and areas like this where one can exploit outcome via VAR

I don’t get this, I’m a Juve fan but that looked like a foul. Just because the referee doesn’t catch it at first doesn’t stop it from being a foul.

Dear lord complain as much as you want, that was a foul, if it were the other way around you would be (correctly) glad that they used VAR

I hate Milan and can say it was a foul. Beautiful goal, but unfortunately should not count.

The ref was horrible. Milan deserved to lose for squandering opportunities and for shadow midfield. However, it was a clear foul.

Dude it was a foul. The problem is not the foul in itself, it’s the fact that Lecce ALWAYS gets the short stick of bad refereeing. The refereeing against Roma was a warcrime
