Literally they used studies that had nothing to do with environmentalism then drew conclusions from those studies to support this wild and unsubstantiated claim that “straight men see environmentalism as gay”.

The studies they quote were around perceived sexuality of personality traits considered socially to be “gender bending”. A label so outdated as to show the age and relevance of such a study.

This is the academic equivalent of tabloid news.
