My home network has a 1 GbE managed network switch and a Synology DS416play NAS (w/ dual 1 GbE ports) that can be operated in Link Aggregation (LAG) mode. Currently, I’m using only 1 LAN port, tho.
I would love to purchase a 5 or 8 port 2.5 GbE switch that supports LAG so that I can utilize both LAN ports on my NAS (2 Gbps) and connect a couple desktops via 2.5 Gbe and have one downlink to my 1 GbE network.
Any affordable 2.5 GbE switches available for home networking yet? My searches aren’t coming up with anything less than $500.
Maybe the solution is just to give up on the old NAS + LAG and get a new NAS with 2.5 GbE LAN and a cheap unmanaged 2.5 GbE switch instead.
This fits your requirements and runs $300 or less
