We attract the best players and managers from around the world but don’t do the same for refs. Then we wonder why the officiating is much worse than the quality of players and coaches. The quality of the playing would be way worse without foreigners and quality of refereeing would improve with foreigners.

Agree or disagree?

It is funnu because in a lot of leagues people are requesting for foreign refs. Which kind of indicates that all refs are shit or the perception of them is shit.

English refs routinely appear at the finals of european or international.competition. it is a good indication that perhaps they are at the top of their game. Bear in mind that in EPL, they are fully professional, which is not the case in most leagues.

Dont let the perception of extended comments focus on referreing to paint a worst picture than it is. Refereeing is actually stradily improving. But.when you start discussing a bad ref call when it is needed a shot at 3 different speeds, 10 different angles and even then people.say it isnup to interpretation - that is not bad ref. That is just pundits and fans being a dic and demanding a lot more thant what is humanly possible.

Totally agree. I’m not shitting on English refs here I just think there’s enough money in English football to import the very best (as we do with players despite a good talent pool of English players).

Problem is that the English refs can count themselves already as the very best 😝.

People just have the strange notion that because they may have a club affiliation they will be out there to get you.
