Hello I have my router in the far corner of my living room (only place it can be) and I was gaming trough wifi (which we all know it’s not great) I’ve since then acquired an extender that gets an ok signal (not full bars) at the office and I’ve connected it through cable into my PC and I saw improvements. My issue now is that the extender only has one rj45 port and we have two computers, so I was thinking on getting a switch but I don’t know which one to get. I would like to know if someone knows a good one to suggest or has a better idea on what to do than what I have going on right now. I was trying to stay under 30 bucks if possible. Thanks for the help
Just get any switch that can handle 1000mbps - which should be all of them by now.
No switch performs better than another - that anyone would notice in the real world.
But if you want that warm, fuzzy feeling get one from a known manufacturer: netgear, tp link etc
You seem to already know the whole speech about Extenders, so I’ll just take your question at face value and give you a straight answer:
https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-5-Port-Gigabit-Ethernet-Unmanaged/dp/B07S98YLHM/
Just connect that to the single port on the Extender, then connect the two computers to the switch.
Remember to order additional Ethernet cables as needed. Any Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable is fine.
