If we seriously lay out the facts, last season Chelsea’s underperformance is probably the worst we have seen in our lifetimes.
Derby have the record low points tally, but what was really expected of them? They didn’t spend any money. It was objectively an awful season but relative to expectations was it as bad as Chelsea?
Chelsea spent £1bn, they could have bought Newcastle for £400m and probably could have bought Brighton too! 2 stadiums, 2 academies, training grounds and top 6 teams, instead they actually managed to go backwards.
The stats on money spent are mind blowing, and the stats on their results are even worse. We’ve just seen Brentford earn more wins at Stamford bridge than the last 2 Chelsea managers combined, going back to March.
This is the football equivalent of ENRON, if it was another industry you would expect criminal charges.
And yet the biggest headline of the year was “Arsenal bottle the league”.
I just can’t wrap my head around how little attention this gets, am I the only one?
See the blatant handball in the EFL cup? No penalty given? I didn’t even hear any VAR review being done, it was pretty blatant and the commentators, they got away with one there, but how we have VAR how are they getting away with it?
