Listen, I get it. ManU is pretty shit. There’s no arguing about it. But a lot of people blame that on the Glazers. Which is something I don’t get?
We literally had the almost the exact same scenario unfold last year. Just with Tottenham. Everyone was saying “change manager as much as you want, nothing will change.” Even our own manager said it. Then of course, we brought in Postecoglu. I’m not delusional, I know there will still be downs with him. But he’s already transformed the club more the Conte has, IMO.
The two situations are so comparable, yet it seems people didn’t learn anything from last time. A manager’s job isn’t just to make tactics. It’s to rally the players, to give everyone that winning mentality. And that’s something Ten Hag can’t do. He’s punching above his weight, and it’s very obvious.
And yes, the Glazers are shit owners. There’s no denying that. But you can’t simply place everything on the owners. Ten Hag got his men. He got who he wanted. Yet he’s still mid table and losing to the Newcastle B-team. He’s a very flawed manager who probably shouldn’t manage in the Prem.
Open to discussion, ofc. Feel free to try and change my mind.
Didn’t Levy turn down Ten Hag because he lacked charisma during an interview? Listening to his extremely dull press conference and post match interviews, Daniel made the right call. If I had a boss who has the personality of a damp blanket, I too would down tools
A big part of coaching is man management. He could be the greatest tactical manager in the game but all the fancy formations mean nothing if he cannot get his players behind him. This detail set the world class managers like Pep and Klopp apart from mediocre coaches.
Ange is massive breath of fresh air and a fun character to be around. You can see the massive difference in attitude from the players from when they are used to get barked at by Mourinho and Conte.
Levy picked Conte. Don’t think he really made the right decision there. Like it or not, EtH won a cup that Spurs fans would dream of. Last years spurs side had more quality players in it than Newcastle and we weren’t exactly amazing or anything. They absolutely could have won that.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Liverpool fan so seeing United struggle warms my cold, dead heart. But realistically, what does sacking him actually accomplish?
They’d be in the exact same position they were when they sacked Mourinho, Ole etc. I’m not saying he should be immune to any criticism because obviously they’re having a pretty bad season considering the ambitions based on last season, but sacking Ten Hag doesn’t really change a lot of the core problems.
i can’t understand the title of your post, what am i missing?
Did you get banned from r/ManchesterUnited?
