Why do our managers always seem to sabotage themselves? Mourinho played Herrera and McTominay in defence.

Ole changed to high press because of media pressure to move from counter attack.

ETH is playing football suicide with this high press transition midfield thing, Bruno RW.

We was the biggest club on the planet winning more than any other club in Europe in terms of reaching the qtrs semis and finals of European cup and winning domestic trophies. Since the glazers took over we’ve died a slow death. In my opinion it’s the biggest sporting disaster ever. To take a club that was on top of the world to this is disgraceful and it’s directly from our owners, the parasites. We’ve got fans abusing us at OT singing ‘OT is falling down, ten hag is a clown, glazers here for 10 more years… and we’re getting battered every game. So with the stadium falling down, the club in a complete mess from top to bottom, losing everything you’d expect someone who’s in charge to come out and ease the pain… we need good news like the glazers going. Surely the government should intervene. They’re killing millions of uniteds fans dreams because of their lust for billions and greed. This should be allowed. FREE FREE MUFC

Stick with ETH. A squad without discipline is not a football team, they are Sunday league players. Support him until every players are whipped into line or fk off to other club.

Not only the lack of football structure behind the scene, the lack of discipline and strong mentality among the players are sickening. No companies, schools or organizations in the world would tolerate this kind of low-discipline.

I rather get 14th place than get a new manager and somehow get 6th place. The cycle will just renew and a year and half down the line, we will be sacking him too. We’re rotten to the core.

This is only partially tongue in cheek: it’s a good year to have a bad year.

There are some absolute dogs in the division this year so the infinitesimal chance of the worst outcome is even infinitesimaler.

Do Man United fans think another manager change will fix things?

Feel sorry for ETH. He wanted rid of players in the summer and the club weren’t ruthless enough to get rid of them and he couldn’t bring in replacements. Now he has players playing for him after he tried to get rid of them. Plus all the off-field stuff and injuries.

I think if the club backed him a bit more and was a bit more ruthless to get rid of players and bring in others, things wouldn’t be so bad. Will probably take any manager years to fix things. What top manager in their right mind would go there now?

I mean, when your choices are keep doing what you’re doing and slowly go under the waves or take a risk on it getting worse in the hope that it gets better, I think the latter is the obvious choice.

Last night was a complete shit show. Yes. Newcastle are currently a better team than United. But look at their starting XI! They started with 5 full backs. Four in defence and one on the wing. Their two best central midfielders didn’t start. No striker. And fucking Matt Ritchie on the other wing. If this team is playing better football than you, then things are indeed worrying.

Yup. We’ve got like 5 points against 14 off games against the top 9. EtH can’t get players motivated for this. It’s entirely on him (and yes I agree glazers need to go also)

I was ranting about this on reddit after the City match. I was on board with ETH even a couple of weeks ago. But some pundits (like Carragher) are right. He hasn’t been able to establish a style of play. There are no patterns. Reguilon reaches the edge of the box and then looks around to see what is happening around him. There are no ‘moves’ that the players have been drilled for. It’s all off the cuff.

We overachieved last season thanks to individuals showing spurts of tremendous form - Rashford, Garnacho, Bruno, Casemiro. But it was essentially the same shit as with Mourinho and Ole. Individual brilliance. If ETH was really that good a manager, wouldn’t there be some semblance of structure to our play by now? If Howe, Gary O’Neill , Emery and De Zerbi can do it with much smaller teams and supposedly inferior personnel, then why can’t ETH? I mean look at how Villa and Wolves are playing!

Not saying he should be sacked. Because who would we replace him with. Just resigned to another season of heartache and rage.

Will he fight hard or fight smart? His selections convince me that he’s just picking whoever has been vaguely good (+Rashford and Bruno) rather than going for a coherent ideology.

Trying to rat results in the short term doesn’t benefit the team in the long term.
