I had a thought about certain managers that have befallen to owner demands or unfair ridicule when in all honesty they could’ve been amazing for your club but didn’t get enough backing.
Mourinho at united
Tuchel
George Burley at Hearts. Top of the league winning 8 of first 10 games. Owner was an idiot and punted him when they had a genuine chance of challenging Rangers and Celtic for the league.
Think Van Gaal got done over at United. Top 4 in first season and then an FA Cup in his second season but because we finished 5th he got sacked. Football was absolutely mind numbing at times but still think it was a bit harsh.
Darren Moore. Got Sheff Weds promoted last season, sacked over the summer because of contract negotiations.
Almost every Watford manager in the last 10 years
Tuchel @ both Dortmund and Chelsea
Chris Hughton @ Newcastle
Nagelsmann @ Bayern
Ancelotti @ Chelsea
Ranieri @ Leicester (probably the worst one)
Ten Hag in a month’s time
Valverde at Barca
Mohamed at America
Mourinho at Chelsea and Tottenham.
Both clubs were a complete mess. Mourinho gave them some stability and even won trophies with United.
Board assumed they could just compete for titles and for the Prem just like that and dumped their frustration on Mourinho.
And then they sank even lower for multiple years.
Tuchel everywhere fer some reason
i feel Louis Van Gaal in Man Utd. Man won the FA Cup and got sacked. And at that time, many in the Man Utd fan base were looking for an instant SAF (btw, even SAF took a few years to properly establish himself and Man Utd among the very top). Was his football boring ? Yeah. But I see it now that atleast he had a long term vision. And winning the FA Cup warranted some patience from our side.
Chris hughton at Newcastle. Statistically their best manager, won the championship with 102 points, had them comfortably midtable the next season. Bonkers decision (not a Newcastle fan)
Jose Mourinho at Chelsea. Both times, especially the first.
They were almost in the relegation zone, when he got sacked second time.
