Hope this is close enough to be allowed here - New Cable internet install - have a single coax line coming in from the outside of the building. I need to split it into 3-4 lines and run them to different rooms.

Is it better to keep the initial run (before the splitter) long, and have the split lines shorter, or the other way around? Or, best to put the splitter about halfway between entry point and endpoint?

Assuming any of this matters. It’s not going to be any appreciable difference in terms of cost or install difficulty.
