Hey guys, would appreciate your help in sorting out a tiny issue that I’ve been facing at my new place. I’m using the default modem+router device that’s setup in my living room. I can’t tell for sure if it’s a wifi strength issue or if the device is just glitchy or if its something else but I’ve been noticing that my browsing is ass and sometimes pages take forever to load, YouTube automatically loads at 240p, videos buffer constantly, etc. Since my room is just 10-15 feet away from the device, I’m inclined to think that maybe it’s not an issue of weak signal strength but I do notice the issue is more prevalent when I’m further away from my device. I should also mention that restarting the device sometimes immediately resolves the issue but it resurfaces after a while, albeit occasionally. And my speed (using the standard speed test) is at around 5 MBps. Which is probably too slow to begin with, but isn’t the main issue because I have had pretty snappy browsing sessions, video rendering/streaming, etc.
So I’m kinda confused as to what to think about this whole situation. Would appreciate help in brain storming ideas to troubleshoot and fix the said issue. Thanks in advance.
Depending on where you live might be that your current wifi channel is over crowded with neighbors’ WiFi.
