As Messi’s career comes toward the end stages (and I hope he continues for another 5 years), one can only wonder if it is at all possible, for any generation to have a player like Messi. A player who can simultaneously be the greatest playmaker and goal scorer. A player whose stats outshine any other player in history. A player who can win 8 Ballon d’Ors in his career. A player who can actually do what magicians pretend to do. A player who despite achieving literally everything, can stay humble and down to earth.

I think it will take centuries for football to have a player like Messi again. How lucky are we to be able to see the greatness as it unfolds before our eyes?

    Doubt it’ll happen, media will keep hyping up players to convince the world obviously but style of football has changed, can’t run with the ball, no long range shots, no crosses, only pass sideways or always look for the backward pass, there’s brilliant players out there but not coached like when Messi burst into scene

    He has been so pumped full of hgh that he could be more consistent than anyone else. I think that’s a huge factor.

    So maybe when they find another doctor that prescribes hgh to an adult for no medical reason. Without doping, I don’t anyone can compete.

    It’s already happening every day…there’s thousands of young players who will be as good if not better than Messi…don’t forget though he was only as good as his team mates…even he needed assists

    Not too long. You just need a technical strong player that is getting juiced up with growth hormones and have ties to a regime that wants to host a World Cup. Ah and you need one of the best football generations ever that win 2 Euros and a WC to support this player. Then it might work out pretty easily.
