If salah didn’t get injured in the 2018 champions league final Vs Real Madrid, how would it have gone?

Real would probably still have won, but it would have been far closer

let’s remember that Ramos not only injured Salah, he also concussed Karius

Salah has faced Real Madrid 5 more times after that game, including another final, and he barely did anything remarkable. I don’t understand why people act as if he could have scored 4 goals that night. Since his Roma days, the guy has 0 wins in 8 games against Real Madrid, one injury barely makes a difference to that.

To be fair, the only game where the sides have been evenly matched since then was the last final, and on any other night he probably would’ve scored. Unlucky for the Scousers that Courtois decided to play the match of his life!

If Ramos didn’t injure both Salah and Karius, I think Liverpool would’ve won. They were simply better tactically.

Losing your best player after 30 minutes is a huge blow to team morale. But not as bad as your GK playing with a concussion after getting elbowed in the head. Truly the game of Ramos’ career.

I actually reckon they would’ve won. I remember watching in disbelief because Liverpool’s pressing was forcing two of the most composed players I’ve ever seen (Kroos and Modric) into misplacing passes and even just booting it out of play to avoid getting tackled. Madrid looked seriously rattled and this was going on for a good 20+ minutes.

Then Salah, Liverpool’s talisman, goes off and Liverpool just deflated. Their right wing went from ripping into Madrid to totally blunt, Madrid looked suddenly comfortable.

I do think the Karius thing was more decisive though. If he doesn’t get concussed he doesn’t concede those goals.
