Hiya! I’m in a 3-floor house with an attic bedroom so would benefit from a heating system which allows me to choose which room is heated when (e.g. mid-floor office during the day, ground floor living space in early eve, second floor bedroom later in the eve). I’m therefore trying to work out the best/necessary smart heating system for me.

I’ve read up about the pros/cons of nest v tado v hive. I’m generally happy with heating on a schedule, as I am someone who remembers to turn it off when away from home, am home lots, and don’t have it on lots - so mostly want/need a system which just allows separate timings for separate rooms.

What’s the best/cheapest way of my getting this? Do I still need one of the above plus smart TRVs? Looks like lots of the smart thermostats are around £200, plus the smart TRVs then being another £200. Is there some other option I’m not aware of?

Thank you!

I’m running a drayton wiser system in my house. It’s great that I can zone each room or bunch of radiators to what I like. The app is fine but I have that all being controlled using home assistant.

It was very easy to install provided the radiators have trvs on them. Otherwise there’s a bit of valve changing
