If 4-4-2 came back and your club was made to use two strikers currently at the club would you be happy with your options.

As a Newcastle fan without injuries Isak and Wilson are a solid front 2. Obviously Man City with Alvarez and Haaland are potentially the best option. What about your own club?

Actual strikers for this one aswell, not wingers who score an insane amount of goals like Salah.

The only thing good about 442 is two out and out strikers. I was blessed to watch Ferdinand and Shearer together

i can see teams using a variant, the 4 2 2 2, similar to what rb leipzig are doing: using two CAMs like xavi simmons and olmo as winger, but more close to the half spaces than classical winger

or as monaco in 2016/2017 with thomas lemar and bernardo silva implementing similar movements

I think Moyes would combust like the android at the end of Alien at the mere thought having to write two strikers’ names on the team sheet!

There aren’t enough strikers around these days to make it work. I miss strike partnerships but it’s a thing of the past now.

    Havertz & Jesus upfront

    8xG created 2 goals scored 🥶

I think MØ and Rice in midfield would be a very complimentary pairing, and both Martinelli and Saka have the work rate to play as 442 wingers

If 442 came back😑 Honestly, wtf are these posts about? Every single post sounds like it’s from a school boy who has watched 2 games.

Salah and Nunez would be an incredible pairing in my opinion. Probably play Diaz on the left and Szoboszlai on the right of the midfield.

LFC did it last season vs City and won the game. Counter attacking we would be one of the best, but losing a CM might not be great given the amount we press… BUT Trent being utilised much more narrow him and Szoboszlai would have so many options. I think Elliott would benefit playing a bit wider, he wouldn’t be stuck with as many physical battles but you’re also given much less freedom to Robertson and Tsmikas who both love to make runs in behind leaving us with a back 2 so Gomez could be a solid option.

                   Alisson
    Trent Konate VVD Robertson

Salah Szobszlai MacAllister Diaz Jota Nunez

    Wilson-Isak Gordon-Guimaraes-Longstaff-Almiron Burn-Botman-Schar-Trippier Pope

    Pretty good I’d say

    For West Ham…

Areola in goal, back four Coufal/Zouma/Aguerd/Emerson. Mids Bowen/JWP/Soucek/Paqueta. Up front Kudus/Antonio
