Well, I assume he’s picking players based on previous performances. Maguire, Mctominay and Evans have played well for United recently. I don’t think Casemiro has been good at any point this season however you’d probably say it’s logical to pick him over Mctominay because he’d work better next to Amrabat. But maybe Varane and Casemiro just aren’t match fit.
I’m more curious as to why Pellestri isn’t in the squad though.
