People forget that MA actually saw Eddie when he was in the academy. No way he sanctioned that deal without some insight into his talent and development. Also that hat trick was based on things he has been doing whenever he is picked it just came together.

Eddie gets so much disrespect precisely because he came thru the ranks. If he was older, French, less hardworking and came for big bucks he would be loved more.

Maybe it’s because of 3/10 after 3/10 against real sides. You can’t scream about disrespect after today if you ignored that he was awful against city, spurs and united

Not a single person would defend a French forward who scores 9 goals in 40 league appearances or 6 in 39 league appearances.

Even though it was Sheffield his finishing was undoubtedly on point. As someone who has hated on him a lil I do hope he goes on to prove me wrong.

Eddie is alright in games like this, where we are camped out in the opponents’ box trying to knock it in off someone’s arse.

He’s also good at the lung-busting pressing when that’s required…as long as he actually does it.

But he’s not gonna fill the net against the big clubs. That’s where we need Jesus’ quality.

Gotta say was always critical of Eddie because his all round play hasn’t been the best, but he slowly is improving his linkup play, his touch in the past has let him down a lot, though today it’s like he was a different playing with his first touch…perhaps his hard work in training is paying off and must do tend to forget that a lot of strikers mature at a later age than usual ( look at Toney ), everybody would love to see Eddie succeed since his a colney boy that wears his heart on his sleeve

We don’t trust in him. He is not PL champion material nor he would ever be. He is a good guy and we like him but he must be third choice at max

Good performance and he is capable of them. Just can’t do it often and ESPECIALLY against good teams. All well and good doing it at home against bottom of the league but in big games he can vanish. And THAT is why he isn’t good enough for Arsenal. More about how good Arsenal are rather than Eddie not being good. He is good. Just not good enough for Arsenal.

If I was Fabio Vieira and my team mate is on the brink of 4 I’d be insisting they take the PK.

Having said that, it was an all round nice moment.
