It’s senior prom, and Rachel has had a fight with her boyfriend Chip, who will not be taking her to prom.
Ross is her friend Monica’s older brother. He always had a thing for Rachel, and his parents convince him to surprise her by donning a tux and being her last minute date.
Just as he is about to come downstairs, we see Monica, her date, Rachel and her newly reacquainted Chip heading out the door to prom, much to Ross’ dismay (Figure 1).
