Hundreds at them at all stadium now. Yes cubs should probably do more with kids and community, but that’s not the way to go.
At Newcastle we have a problem with people outside of the area queuing outside the main entrance when the typical top 6 clubs come. The stewards even put up barriers for them to be segregated, trouble is they would be in the way of the crowd and obviously were not attending the games. We should have put in place a ‘The away team will not be allowed to stop for autographs rule’. Since the takeover I’ve never sat around that area, so don’t see it as much anymore, but I’d imagine if we continue our progress, the same people will be back for autographs for our players soon.
The training ground has similar problems. We have a policy where players don’t stop outside the school holidays to do sign autographs. The YouTubers though always kick up a fuss and try to prevent the cars from getting past. It’s worse during the school holidays because the YouTubers will just push the kids out of the way.
