No, not everyone needs to make a cold cut, even though it would be better. But you can start using e.g. Signal and maybe one or two of your friends would too. And slowly more and more people would migrate. It’s a process, but if most people don’t even bother then of course it won’t go anywhere.

Not much is cheap here, especially food :) But I guess it is cheaper than alternatives. Though, I never actually tried it here, so I can’t say about the quality.
I could get good food for that money from the supermarket next door.

She did but her husband did not. Detaining her for traveling with him is nuts. Detaining him for that is also nuts but another story. The point being: there were “irregularities” involved. I am not saying it’s not insane but also not completely random.
6 weeks detained by ICE is no holiday, the conditions are horrible, and you will more likely than not be denied medical service if you need it.
They did state that one person had an expired visa in the article. Absolutely not defending anything ICE did to the traveling couple, but it was not just being randomly picked up and carried away like headline and summary suggests.

Can we as citizens do anything against all this lunatic shit going on currently? I mean there is SO much blatant corruption going on everywhere. Waiting for elections or legal procedures obviously doesn’t cut it, if that takes months/years vs “them” doing what they want every day and hour.
It just feels so bleak, and not reading news, while better mental health, would just be hiding from the truth

The biggest problem i can think of is a distro that doesn’t ship the drivers in their package manager. and then it’s just following the description on the nvidia website how to install them for your distro.
I do enjoy spicy food in general, but the x2 were hard. Used half the sauce the first time and finished the portion in pain, just because i am stubborn. On the third try i used around an eight of a package to keep it edible.
On the positive side: i put the rest of the sauce in a jar, so now i can add it to all kind of meals in smaller quantities. I really like that
I understand that you can benefit if you play it correctly, but can you deny that it’s designed to fuck people over that don’t? Idk at least to me thats why i don’t even want to be part of it, even if i am doing fine with money and would net benefit, probably. I just don’t want to be part of that predatory system.
Edit: of course i am also talking as someone who grew up not exposed to credit scores at all and only ever paying debit.

I have a) ignored the fact you said about whatsapp because i was annoyed with the “inevitable” sentiment. sorry for that and fantastic step from you; And b) i have not used it in…i don’t even know, 6-8 years? I was very hopefull more people make a switch during the last time news came up. But i am also in europe and well aware how stupid the situation is, unfortunately.
I am also aware how stupid many businesses are, but i am closer to the other end of the spectrum and just stubborn so i simply don’t partake. And i will be complaining, but obviously without much reach in my echo chamber of people who switched anyway.
But what i mean is really that there can be change, slowly and gradually but it works. I my of my close family and most of my few friends to Signal and slowly i see this spreading to aquaintances. Like my bouldering group switched lately, which was a very nice surprise to me.
