Since learning about Peter Singer’s ideas admittedly late (this year) I cannot find any moral justification to eat meat. We all probably should have switched to vegetarianism a long time ago. If not on ethical grounds, at the very least for the sake of our planet. After all why kill and torture things that can feel pain and have sentience if we could live just as well on plants?

Eagle scout here as well. I second this. When I was in scouting it was still boy scouts and I was always a bit bothered by the exclusions. So happy to see that the organization is now inclusive and standing by their beliefs.

Now just to get religion out of scouting…
