  • If you can still use a mouse well, grand strategy games can be played with one hand. Despite all the (deserved) criticism they get, paradox games are a lot of fun. (and their modern ones even feel like a full game without having to buy any dlc) They can be a bit difficult to keep up with without a keyboard though so play on lower speeds.

If you are more concious about who you give your money to, endless legend 2 is a 4x published by hooded horse that is very good (think civ but fantasy) and since it is turn based it is a lot easier to play with just a mouse.

  • The entire ending of portal 2.

    spoiler

From the part where he kills you all the way up to leaving the enrichment centre. It’s all done so well and it made me realise this time there was no fakeout, this was actually goodbye and we will never get a portal 3, not with Chell at least.

Reaching the peak of celeste was an incredible moment for me and the summit chapter is such a good “final” gauntlet. I’ve gone on to beat everything but farewell and the entire game is so well made. (My thumbs really hurt though)

  • (I am on the younger, but not youngest, side of Gen Z)

The uk made exams “easier” (they made exams less about memorising facts and more about applying them) for students in secondary school during the lockdowns, that was quite nice. (And I dont know anyone who did any worse in exams because of lockdown)

I definitely feel like I’m not as good as socialising as I should be, but I don’t know if that’s just me because I don’t have a non-lockdown version of myself to compare to.

I think I would rather be the person I am because of the lockdown than the person I would have been without it. (although I didn’t lose anyone close to me, I definitly think the world would have been better without it)

  • What I like about FTL is how it works with the story.

My favourite examples are Elite Dangerous and Dune.

Elite Dangerous’s FTL tech is based on alien tech and that allows the developers to do cool stuff that you wouldn’t expect in an mmo (this is usually a loading screen so when this first started happening people were terrified).

And Dune’s idea of having the entirety of interstellar civilisation dependent on one substance that can only be made on one planet, which also has other uses extremely important to different groups, sets the stage perfectly for what happens in the books.
