From a entrepreneur point of view, this looks like a clear monetization attempt. Gather content from federated communities, sell to investors on the name “fediverse”. B2C is generally very hard to pull off because there’s so much competition so I doubt they’ll succeed, but there is that saying about seeing what sticks on the wall.

Also, from both a user and entrepreneur point of view, you need to break into markets by starting small. The fediverse heavily leveraged the open source community to get started. I personally would not be on Lemmy if Lemmy wasn’t AGPL. ClubsAll doesn’t have that.

With no ill intent, I hope they fail. They’re not contributing, and we don’t need proprietary cancer in the fediverse.

  • On mobile so won’t grab all the links, but I’ve done a lot of research into air purifiers and can echo what most people said

    • Most air purifiers over 50$ are as good as the ones that sell for 150$+
    • I personally buy Winix
    • An air purifier can clean a room in 1-3 hours, but since I’m paranoid I keep mine running 24/7
    • Don’t buy anything over 100$, it’s not worth it (if you want super clean rooms, buy one for each side of your house)
    • Clean your air purifier (just wash the filter) every month or two (there’s a lot of dust it traps)
    • Enjoy the investment, air purifiers are great!

  • There’s a few situations

    1. You like the current duopoly, perpetually vote Dems and accept Republicans will take office some terms

    2. You don’t like the current duopoly, vote third party, and accept you’re helping Republicans take office this term

If Republicans getting into office a few more terms means “the end of democracy” or “the end of X rights”, democracy and x rights are already on their way out. If more people voting third party makes the dems push for ranked voting or adopt policies that will solve the perpetual voting issue, then that lays the groundwork for a democratic future.

See you at the ballot box.
