Yeah I have a way to get my weixin pay funded so I can Didi everywhere and I have an international roaming plan. Without weixin China is extremely troublesome, and other parts of Asia are similar.

If you want to eat foreign food in China you to have to go somewhere run by foreigners that will take the trouble to source ingredients are are extremely uncommon in China.
I’m a super taster and adore spicy food but I can’t eat a lot of common things like onions, or drink tea, coffee, beer, or wine. Seltzers(because I can taste bitter 2 flavor profile) are also off limits and anything fermented tastes like rotting.
So while in some aspects I could be considered a picky eater, I’ve also traveled the world pretty extensively and have eaten street food in several developing nations
Really every super taster i know drinks diet, soda like it’s going out of style. And cooking an onion works for people that are not super tasters but ones that are still usually overwhelmed from the small sample size I’ve met over the years.
Were you a smoker at any point perhaps?
Yeah I don’t love it sounds like a super power when all it does is make you not like popular stuff for the most part. There is however one upside which is when I eat something truly good my soul leaves my body and I fall through space and time. I call it a taste journey. Have to be vigilant to not get super fat haha.
Opposite of me in almost every way lol def not a super taster
Canned sliced button mushrooms are pretty easy to eat.
I mostly eat the fun kind of mushrooms which are very unpleasant to get down but worth the health benefits.
I know the cilantro example is famous, but as a super taster and having other people with the gene onions are very divisive. For me, anything more than a hint is overpoweringly disgusting and the idea of actually biting into one directly fills me with dread.
Onion powder and garlic powder are both very preferable to the actual substance taste wise.
If you know someone in your life that really likes diet soda and other artificially sweetened things and even prefers it to the regular, they just might be a super taster.
If you know someone that finds wine, beer, tea and coffee horrifically bitter to the point that they can’t even understand how you enjoy it. They may also be a super taster.
If you know someone that complains Seltzer’s like white claw and lacroix are absurdly bitter and completely disgusting. That is likely because they can taste a profile called bitter two, which is prevalent in these things because they are a super taster.
I know nobody will read this and learn to quit bitching at people about what they like, but I figured I’d at least try.
Now that I’m done being reasonable:
Why don’t you stop pussyfooting around with weak bitch shit like onions and actually use some real fucking spices from India and Mexico? Onions are for mayo loving losers afraid of burning their tender tongues, miss me with that shit.
That’s the exact same gene that also causes onions to be way overpowered and make them not like them. Source: have that gene
I don’t know why people think that it so narrowly impacts just the way that cilantro tastes. It actually has a broad impact across many different flavors. There’s a good chance that most of the adult picky eaters you’ve ever met are just people that carry this gene.

The real ego here is assuming you’re going to be able to tell…

Yeah it was my reddit client until the API then the dev pivoted to Lemmy and I just picked it right up again

I’m also a fighting game player and I think that’s why I found it not too difficult compared to what’s required to Parry six frame normals and what not. Fighting game execution is so complicated that I find almost all genres are comparatively easier to handle.

Never even heard of it

Dude, one of the best parts of traveling is trying the snack foods from the rest of the globe and seeing how they are. Eating in general internationally is just a joy.

This is a pretty unhinged take. I travel the world a lot and Pringles seem to be popular in almost every country. In China I really became a fan of the shaokao bbq ones.
That said this looks delicious.
The hot ones Verde Pringles are also amazing.
…uhh are you telling me other guys aren’t doing this? I thought that everyone else was in on this too. Devouring women is my default

Automata combat is mostly a poor slog but I did get all the endings so I totally feel this

Wow one of the only people ever that has also played Recettear, I really liked my time with it but didn’t finish.
I also didn’t like hollow Knight that much and wound up leaving it at like seventy percent complete but I did beat Ori which I liked more.

Easily the most controversial comment in here. I don’t think e33 is considered very difficult unless you do the optional content which has ridiculous stuff. I loved the story and characters and think it’s one of the most enjoyable and memorable RPGs of all time.
You are definitely wrong. La BBQ was one of the best meals of my life and then they ended up getting a Michelin star. There are other Austin places like Moreno’s that are also amazing. Any time I visit I go straight to BBQ places.
