Infynis@midwest.socialto ADHD@lemmy.world•what would it be like being neurotypical?English1·14 days agoI’ve definitely found that I do better when I can keep 100 different things balanced against each other. It gives me somewhere to go when I hit a wall. It can obviously get overwhelming when something goes wrong though
Infynis@midwest.socialto ADHD@lemmy.world•what would it be like being neurotypical?English2·14 days agoI feel this big time. I go to sleep with an audiobook on, so I have something to focus on. Otherwise, it takes me forever to sleep, because my brain keeps distracting me

I believe the Vulcans call that, “Infinite diversity, in infinite combinations.”

We could assume a Federation translator would know that context, but who knows what knowledge was lost in the 21st century?
You don’t even need the dice! I was definitely gambling last session when I attuned to a prosthetic eye filled with the trapped souls of everyone that’s ever used it. It gives me 60 feet of Truesight though!

I still have to make sure I’m not eating snacks without thinking about it. A good option for me has been keeping easy, small, healthy foods, that can get me through hunger pang. My favorite is a pot of Greek yogurt. They’re like 80¢ at Aldi where I live. Fresh fruit works great as well! And for late night treats, I eat frozen fruit. It fills the ice cream niche, without being packed with calories and extra sugar

Asking someone to write fantasy without putting their own lived experience into the writing would be counterproductive anyway. Good characters should have a little bit of yourself in them
