Our IT guy does this stuff, but there’s training involving to get it to do that. I’m holding out for Zorin Grid which is supposed to do all that from a singled overview dashboard

I find it does well for:

• Reformatting data / text
• Finding new movies or music from a list of your likes
• Finding web info like google used to in 2010 before ad based content over swept all the searches

Other than those its a pain in the ass, and I keep having to disabling it or unistall products to make my windows work machine usable…so much garbage packed into every app now.

Ours is a sliding rate based on your income. It is a line item on your tax form for the pension plan. For say 75k earnings you’d pay about $4000 to the CPP, employer contributes an equal amount. If you are self employed you have to contribute both the employee and employer amount so about 8K.

The fund has investment managers growing it. But it is still a pyramid of new workers propping up the fund so retired people can draw from it. As life expectancy increases they will probably move retirement age.

I’m not fully versed on the differences, but our Canada Pension plan is invested in various things.

Although, lately has come under fire for investment choices they’ve chosen.

It is basically Google Photos so your phone can backup to your own server and has face recognition so you can filter by people. Also has albums and timeline organization.

You have to setup a mini PC or Pi on your network. Its a bit of fiddling with docker to setup and configure, but after that there is nothing to do until an update comes out.

You would need some techy skills to set it up initially.

Proton Drive might be easiest as you can share folder links to family.

Immich Server for self hosting, but since you said you don’t have time to tinker, go with something like Proton.

I can believe it, the Chrysler Hatchback on a model way back had a built in rubber seal molded to the plastic trim. They spec’d materials that don’t stick to each other so the seal would just peel off. Instead or changing materials they made it sawtoothed like nubs to hold the seal in place mechanically… But I’m sure that leaked after a while
