I work, but I end up with a shitload of downtime and feel like I am doing nothing half the time. There are days when I have literally just played games on my phone or laptop all day, at work. (We are all already across the country at different locations, in an office).

I get constant praise from everyone above me. As far as I can tell, I am like their best employee. All I can think is, WTF is everyone else doing at work?

Maybe soul has more meaning that “supernatural ghost” and more like, “actual drive and reason and purpose.”

If everyone stopped touching AI, it would stop doing anything. It is not even alive.

Then there are psychos like me who use both, and Bluesky, and other social media and have a personal blog.

No see, it’s not illegal because Trump is doing it as an act of being President to "save America from CoMmUnIsM or some shit and the Supreme Court said that it’s fine for the President to commit crimes because the SC is a joke of an institution.

No, they are not.

If they were, they would not have elected a blatant con artist TWICE.

What’s amusing is, even big stores are capable of this. Back when Black Friday was huge still, places like Walmart would set up this style of checkout queue.

Also a theory I have one some of this, especially minimum wage jobs.

COVID opened a LOT of people’s eyes to the level of exploitation going on, especially so for any “secondary income” people in the house.

When the local restaurant closed, and the wife (not being sexist, just, the reality of our society is it’s usually the wife/mom/woman) wasn’t working, and she was cooking at home more and being with the kids more because home schooling. These families realized that at the end of the day, they were not doing worse off.

Like basically, they realized that secondary, min wage job, was just covering the travel expense for that job, and daycare/babysitter for the kids while at that job, and maybe food that was eating out that had been replaced with leftovers or whatever now.

That job wasn’t actually bringing in significant money.

Do it now but alternate between playing “God is a Freak” by PRC and “Your God (God’s Dick)” by Laura Jane Grace.

Well I for one plan to go early in the apocalypse, because if there is a heaven, I want to stand by the gate watching all the asshole “good Christians” get rejected. Standing there laughing for all eternity will be my heaven.

With the way society is going, that may not be a bad thing.

The planet won’t die. Humanity might, the planet will live on and heal.

They are worse though for power user types. They do shit like omit “of” in “Ring of Fire Spells” because it seems it as meaningless but people who use search like it’s a computer instead of “Dear Gooblin pwees five me spells for rings made of fire” and get all generic and shit, it sucks.

Because power user types are precise in their search, and search engines are increasingly stripping that precision for stupid reasons.

Yeah, and it’s worse the more niche. I have no idea if Lemmy has a Fortnite community or if it’s active, but I seriously doubt it has a /r/StarWarsDroidTycoon community (a Fortnite mode), which is what I care about. Or /r/FortniteLeaks

What I don’t get with this federated software, Lemmy and Mastodon. It’s ripe for essentially, server level verification of identity. And I don’t mean check every ID of every user.

But like, this threat talks about game communities. Some larger company, Microsoft, maybe even Valve with Steam, could easily run an instance, and have “official” forums this way. Any anyone on any instance can subscribe and visit. But that way you know that like, I dunno, lame.microsoft/halo is the proper community for Halo. Sure, there may be others, but it can become the place of record with announcements etc.

Same for Mastodon stuff. But that would be more for individuals. But also stuff. Like you could have movie.studio/tom.cruise and it’s verification that it’s the proper Tom Cruise posting. That sort of thing.

Plus, smaller communities have less potential burden from a few large accounts loading the system down.

Etc.
