I’m in a condo and there’s auto mode but then there’s an option to choose heat or cool.

It’s not auto cool or auto heat.
It’s in cool mode with the fan in “auto” So fan will only run when stat is actively cooling.
Change fan mode to “on” and fan will always run.
Some houses require circulation, some stats also have a circ function to run it every so often.
