Why do people act like pirating is the moral high ground? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I’m selfish and I like free stuff, so I do it. But I don’t have to fool myself that it’s the right thing to do.

Do it once and notice the “but please buy the game” or something along the lines in the notes. Piracy is mostly about DRM vs. owning things instead of just getting things for free. I personally get them as sort of a demo and if it runs fine in Wine/Proton and i played it more than a few hours i buy it preferably DRM-free.

Btw, the “getting things for free” is put into perspective with free giveaways and that the studios make big bucks in the first year after release.

It’s a fair policy. I actually don’t pirate games unless they’re best player on emulators/discontinued/etc. I typically pirate shows and movies because I can’t be bothered motivationally or financially to subscribe to every flippin streaming service when I rarely watch things anyway.
