I hate the argument of “what’s the intent, it’s not intentional” from the commentators. When is a handball ever intentional. Very rarely do they deliberately do it, and when they do it’s akin to Suarez. Are we saying handballs are only handballs when it’s a Gibbs/Oxlade Chmaberlain, Suarez moment? He’s got his arm out like an idiot in an unnatural position, stopping a cross. Easily a penalty
Following the Young discourse, I’ll be fascinated to see how people who moan about every reffing decision contort themselves to make this a controversy.
It honestly grinds my gears that pundits in 2023 are still mentioning intent when discussing hand balls. Intentional hand balls are red cards. Intent is irrelevant when deciding on a penalty or free kick.
Up the Reds!!
It was incomprehensible that he put his arm in that way.
Always a pen
I haven’t seen the clip yet so in my totally biased view it’s never a pen, it’s a brush
Why leave your arm out like that in the box? What a stupid thing to do
Well they never call handballs usually in the pl
It has to be given, but I really hate all these ball-to- hand penalties
Easy to say. It’s completely natural to have your arms out when you are running and turning
Literally the two big decisions in this game were so easily avoidable by Everton. They’ve defended so well too.
Myklenko was excellent in the first half. Had it tough after the card but he kept Salah v quiet that first 45
👑
How did they need Var for this?
I was kinda expecting they ain’t giving that pen tbh.
Yeah that’s a clear pen
The other 2 penalty shouts were very weak but this one would have been absurd if not given
I never want to see Keane on the pitch for us again
Dyche’s faith in him makes me question an otherwise decent job he’s doing. Shambles.
What a gift
That’s bizarre positioning of the arm from Keane and he really can’t complain
