I don’t want to rain on the parade, but the law is not as good as it may seem. The devil is in the details and therein are hidden many concessions to transphobes, among those a blank check to discriminate against trans people on the ground of domestic authority, countless exceptions that allow to reveal dead names to various institutions (including cops) and other such provisions.
So despite improvements over the previous state of affairs, most LGBT+ orgs in Germany aren’t celebrating this law.
