    Politics aside (and the sickness-inducing Seine withstanding) this has been a great Olympics. Using existing locations instead of purposes-built arenas was a stroke of genius - even though it was brought about as a way of cost-cutting. Cycling past the Louvre, Sacre Coeur and the streets of Montmartre, horse riding at Versailles, fencing at the Grand Palais, the beach volleyball arena with the Eiffel tower as backdrop… It’s been a very memorable experience as a viewer.

    We are quite a few feeling let down by the unions which were all barking before the olympics but whined and turned tails when it really began. A major occasion to be heard and weight on government missed, such a shame ._.
