The background to this song is very interesting…
The song’s title refers to an incident in New York City in 1986 in which two then-unknown assailants attacked journalist Dan Rather while repeating “Kenneth, what is the frequency?”
Exactly, that’s how the title came about.
I always wanted to set up a random music trivia community for stuff like that. Unfortunately, I never got around to it. Maybe one day.

When playing Charades and putting media titles into the other teams hat, this song is the absolute best. Put yourself through it…how the fuck are you supposed to act this shit out?
Back when this song was new and Pizza Hut had restaurants one of the employees must have been obsessed with R.E.M. because we hear this song and other R.E.M. hits like 2-3 times each while eating. It was the only time my dad actually give me money for the jukebox.
