I had a very strange dream about a week ago. I was in some weird video game format and in the video game I had to identify the smell of different items. So I was smelling different things from foods to perfumes to literally anything. The next you know the setting changed and I’m in this weird empty apartment room with a window open and I’m being told to smell something outside the window. I walk towards the window and get a whiff of the smell and I got a whiff of a really foul smell. It smelled like rotten garbage that’s been sitting out and old blood and rotting flesh. Instantly after getting the whiff of the smell I felt this very unsettling feeling and then I woke up. I still have the whiff of that horrible smell is trapped in my head. It was such a weird dream and I still think of it every day. I can’t help but wonder if the dream means anything but it was very disturbing. I guess that would be my first encounter with smelling a dead body… without being in contact with one.
