Great shot. I took this in Atlanta, GA about 10pm EST. The sky definitely had a very slight pink / purple hue you could see with the naked eye. Northern lights or some sort of lens flare?
Definitely the lights. I got them in Atlanta too
Wow, nice capture
Is the video time stamp accurate? The big surge came through about 2-2:30am edt?
Timestamp is UTC
Cool captures.
Hi, OP! Please include ALL acquisition and processing details
Here is the exif data from the original, and I set it to 10 second exposure; I don’t know why it say 2.0s, I don’t understand the technicality and am an amateur at best.
The one I uploaded is lower resolution because I wanted to protect my information and thought I may put up the original for sell one day. A bit greedy I know but my poverty is 2 meals a day walking on subfloors that give me splinters. Enjoy the data.
What was the location and exposure time?
Exposure was 10 seconds, and so I don’t dox myself I’ll say virginia.
Closer to the equator than I thought! Was it clearly visible to the naked eye?
Not too visible, saw shades of reds and greens and streaking like rain when I took that one.
in NC i saw a faint red/pink/magenta glow over the whole sky for a little while. it was as bright as the sky normally is about 45 minutes after sunset when you can only see the brightest stars and planets. the stars looked like they turned pink
Meanwhile it was cloudy here in the mid-Atlantic. :-(
