If you choose to play one, you will never be able to play the other. If you don’t choose you’ll never play a Metroid game again. What is you answer?
Metroid 6. The prime games are great, but I grew up playing the 2d Metroids over and over again, and they’re what Metroid is for me.
Also the long development cycle of prime 4 has me worried.
2D gang
I’ve been waiting until Prime 4 comes out to get a Switch, so Prime 4.
Rip my heart out, geeze. Alright, I’ll go with metroid 6 just since the development of metroid prime 4 has been so rocky. I do appreciate that when Nintendo sees a game isn’t working they’ll scrap it and go back to square one and try and make it good though, rather then just releasing something subpar. While usually at least. On the other hand who knows when metroid 6 will come out? Anywhere from 2-15 years is the range apparently.
Hopefully we’ll get both, eventually
I’ve never played a Prime game, so easily Metroid 6 for me. Especially after Dread. That game was awesome.
Metroid 6, I really loved Metroid Dread.
But secretly and openly I wish that Nintendo gives Zelda2-remake to MercurySteam and then they are allowed to create a successor to Zelda2 similar how they did with Metroid 2 and Dread.
Honestly? Metroid Prime 4. Dread tided me over regarding 2D Metroid for a while, and I’ve been really excited for a new Prime entry since announcement.
That’s a tough one. Metroid Prime is a unique series because I don’t think there are any other metroidvania shooters. Meanwhile, the 2D metroidvania genre is very strong. So with this in mind I think I might prefer MP4. However, to me the MP trilogy got weaker with each subsequent game to the point where I didn’t even play too much of MP3, while Metroid Dread is one of my favourite games from recent years. Basically, if both games are good I prefer MP4 but I would trust a new 2D metroid game more.
@nomadank
Both. 😁Super Metroid
