Kondo says that Trails’ success in the West wasn’t expected ten years ago and tells about how Falcom managed to handle 50-ish playable characters in Trails into Reverie in terms of both gameplay (a dungeon for leveling, and a feature to automatically equip quartz) and story (by introducting three story lines with the ability to instantly swap between them at any time).

Also he teases Ys X and a project in the works which is neither Trails not Ys. (Judging by recent Twitter rumors, it might be a new Tokyo Xanadu)
