Not even sure if I’m ready for playtesters yet or if I’ll even keep working on this, but I had fun making it so far. If you’ve got any thoughts on what would make this more or less playable, it’d probably help me if/when I do get back to working on this.
Interesting. I’ve never come across roleplaying games played on forums before. Can you tell us a bit more about how that would work? For example, would you use a bot for dice rolls, etc?
I’ve heard of RPGs being played in chat rooms, and that I understand because of the shorter “posts” in a chat as opposed to a forum. I’m having trouble picturing how this would work, but I am intrigued.
It’s creative writing focused, so on each turn each person submits their chapter. That’s basically the rules, lol. There’s an editor to mediate but for the most part you just do whatever you want as long as you’re not being an ass, similar to an oldschool rp forum. Edit: there’s also some tentative information provided to help with brainstorming and to keep things on track, but it’s similar to the spirit of nanowrimo where the ultimate goal is to just get words out.
Interesting. I’m assuming we’re not talking book-length chapters here, right? More like a paragraph or three? Mostly about what your own PC does?
Oh, yeah. I’m talking like 2-300 words or even less. Chapter is just what I’m calling them as a word that’s more common than like, “passage” which would be more accurate, but imo unnecessarily so. This is the “official” ruleset I came up with. Hopefully just enough rules to get going but not so many it will stifle or overwhelm people.
