I recall a story from years ago where a carjacker went after someone at a fuel station, the car was a Mustang Cobra that the carjacker couldn’t drive. He ended up killing the driver and I believe passenger. Just because they can’t drive the car doesn’t mean they won’t cause harm to the occupants when they find that out.
My previous car was a 370z with a manual transmission. Where I used to live was not a great part of town and we had a series of break-ins and stolen vehicles. One morning I go out and see I had a chip in my driver’s side door window where they pried it open, evidently saw it was a manual, then did nothing lol
So evidence would suggest if you drive a manual transmission, your vehicle is less likely to be taken by a criminal.
The person at that network who wrote the title should go back to English class. The title makes it sound like the car jackers pistol whipped the owner and then he was foiled by his own car.
For real. From the title one could conceivably assume the dude got foiled by his stick shift and couldn’t get away, and ended up getting pistol-whipped.
News reporters are some of the dumbest people I know. Not all of them, but some of them.

What an awful title
Don’t click the article. There’s literally nothing in there not found in the misplaced-modifier-laden headline.
And yes, I’m convinced my car is a LOT less likely to get stolen since it’s unlikely a crook ever learned stick.
That entire article sucks and the reporter in the video mentions a “red SUV” when the car in the video is a Porsche Boxster. Article also says Porsche.
The robbers were the ones driving the red SUV, the victim the Porsche Boxter
